Week II Announcement
Hi All,
First, many apologies. My kids’ school closed because of the snow and ice, and I got a little behind.
To try to make up for the delay I have given you an extra two days to complete everything. Let me know if you have questions or concerns about the due date.
I’ve posted the list of activities for this week below (and they can also be found at this link), but first, read the following:
Grades
I have finished grading your introductions and blog post #1. For the introductions, you get full credit for doing it. For the blog post, I paid attention to how you responded to the prompt, and I left comments using hypothes.is. You should be able to see these when you go to your post and enable the browser extension you installed when you signed up for the hypothes.is account.
I will be grading Blog Post #2 today and tomorrow, so you should start seeing grades for that.
I posted grades in Blackboard. You should be able to see them when you go to “my grades.”
Feel free to send any questions or requests for meetings to me via email: pfess@lagcc.cuny.edu
Hypothes.is
I will be evaluating your first annotations in the next day or two. If you are having any difficulty with posting annotations please let me know.
Paper 1:
I created this guide explaining the kind of thing I would like you to do for your first paper. Let me know if you have any questions about it.
Baldwin:
We are reading James Baldwin’s great short story “Sonny’s Blues,” about a New York jazz musician and his brother. Since this story features music prominently I’m sending out this playlist you might listen to as you read and write about it.
Agenda:
Week II (01/15-01/21)
- Complete the following by Sunday, 01/21:
- Due
- Read:
- “Sonny’s Blues” by James Baldwin
